In November Perez-Martinez (a junior) completed the application requirements for the HLSR Quick Draw Contest. This is the second time she has been selected for this contest (this contest is different than the one art students compete in each year)
Yesterday, Dec 16th HLSR Art Program released the finalists to compete in this prestigious contest. Only 52 high school students were selected to compete in the contest, either in Portrait or Full Figure. Adamaris was selected to compete in the Portrait Class, which she applied for.
Adamaris will compete on Saturday, January 25th against the top portrait artists from other high schools that were selected - I attached the list below. There will only be 26 students competing in the Portrait Quick Draw contest. The contest will be held at NRG in Houston.
This art contest is rare and not many can meet the requirement of completing a realistic drawing of a live model in 50 minutes on the spot.
Adamaris has a chance to win the following:
Champion $1,000
Class Champion $750
Reserve Champion $500
3rd place $250
4th place $100
